Licensed and compliant across Sydney
All Blue Rhino Plumbing gas fitters hold a current NSW gas work licence and are fully insured. Every job is completed in accordance with AS/NZS 5601 (Gas Installations) and NSW Fair Trading regulations, and every qualifying job is followed up with a compliance certificate so you have the paperwork you need.
We service all Sydney suburbs, from the Inner West and Eastern Suburbs to the Hills District, Northern Beaches, and South-West Sydney.
Gas compliance certificates in NSW
After completing any gas installation or significant repair, your gas fitter is legally required to issue a compliance certificate.
Here’s what each one means and when you’ll need it.
Certificate of Compliance
— Gas (CoC Gas) :Issued after any new gas installation or alteration, this certificate confirms the work was completed by a licensed gas fitter in accordance with AS/NZS 5601 and NSW Fair Trading requirements. It must be provided to the property owner and is required before your gas retailer will connect or reconnect the service. Keep it with your property records — you’ll need it when selling or renting.
Compliance plate on appliances
: All gas appliances installed in Australia must carry a regulatory compliance mark (formerly AGA approval). When we install an appliance, we verify it’s correctly marked for use in NSW and that the installation matches the manufacturer’s specifications — both are requirements for a valid CoC Gas.
Homeowner or landlord obligations
In NSW, landlords are required to ensure rental properties have safe and functional gas installations. While there is currently no mandated periodic inspection interval for residential gas in NSW (unlike some other states), we recommend a check every two years — and any time an appliance is replaced or the system is modified.
